Moving to Spain
When you move to Spain you will of course want to move your items. This can be organized most easily with road transport, in which there are two possibilities, namely: direct transport and groupage.
The costs of moving to Spain
Direct transport actually means that a truck leaves for Spain immediately after packing and loading. However, this is more expensive because you cannot share the costs with others, unlike groupage transport. With Groupage, the truck only starts driving when there are enough shipments to load the truck full.

How long will it take for my belongings to travel to Spain?
For direct transport you should assume an average moving time of 7 days. For groupage transport this is on average between 2 and 3 weeks and is strongly dependent on the season. In the high season (the summer months) the truck is filled faster and can therefore leave earlier. Conversely, it is somewhat slower in the first months of the year.

What do you take with you when you emigrate to Spain?
To help you prepare for your trip, we have listed a number of tips for you. Be careful not to send documents, keys, medicines, jewelry and other important items in sea and/or air freight.
Clothing
| Spaniards always dress neatly and for the Spaniards appearance is also important. Quality clothing can be found everywhere in Spain, such as leather boots and/or bags. Please note that larger sizes are difficult(er) to obtain in Spain. In general, the average Spaniard is small. |
Travel plug | The mains voltage in Spain is about 220 Volts and the frequency is 50 Hertz. You need a (world) adapter plug if you bring electrical appliances. |
Medicines | Check if your medication is available in Spain and what the maximum amount is that you are allowed to take with you. Also check if you need a medical certificate to take medication with you on your trip. |
Documents | Take important documents such as passport, visa documents etc. in your hand luggage – also make copies. |
Personal belongings | Think of your favorite toiletries, items that remind you of home, and other things you can’t do without when traveling. Tip: pack an extra set of clothes in your carry-on in case your checked baggage is delayed or lost. |
